Advocacy Efforts

Policy & Legislation
NARN actively engages in shaping healthcare legislation that reflects Republican principles and conservative values. Through strategic advocacy, we mobilize campaigns to support or oppose critical bills that directly impact nurses, patients, and the healthcare system as a whole.

Grassroots Engagement
Grassroots involvement is at the core of NARN’s mission. We host advocacy workshops through local chapters to equip members with the tools to engage effectively. Coordinated letter-writing campaigns, phone banks, online petitions, and policy awareness efforts ensure our collective voice is heard at every level of government.

Healthcare Reform Priorities
NARN fights for fair wages for nurses that reflect their skill, dedication, and essential role in healthcare. We advocate for compensation that keeps pace with rising costs of living and increasing professional responsibilities, while promoting policies that reward experience, leadership, and advanced nursing practice.

Encouraging Nurses Who Are Ready to Run
NARN supports nurses who are prepared to step into public service by delivering leadership training in public speaking, campaigning, and media engagement. Members receive mentorship from experienced Republican leaders, policy guidance through issue briefs and position statements, and connections to donors, local committees, and grassroots supporters. We elevate candidate visibility through NARN newsletters, events, and media channels.

Endorsements
NARN endorses only the most qualified candidates who demonstrate integrity, proven leadership, and Republican values. Endorsements are granted through a formal vote of the NARN Board of Directors to ensure fairness and accountability. Candidates endorsed by NARN are publicly recognized as trusted voices for healthcare and conservative policy.

United in Healthcare
NARN proudly welcomes the broader family of healthcare professionals who share our mission and values. Our organization includes nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, allied healthcare workers, as well as professionals in law enforcement and fire services, united in strengthening healthcare and protecting our communities.

Honoring our Nurses

Linda D., RN

The National Association of Republican Nurses proudly honors one of our members, Linda D., RN, whose nursing career spans five decades of service, innovation, and unwavering dedication to patient care.

Linda graduated from nursing school in 1975, beginning her career on a medical-surgical unit, where she built the strong clinical foundation that would guide a lifetime in nursing.

In 1976, she moved to Atlanta and joined the ICU at Emory University Hospital, where she was honored to be involved in the care of some of the first renal transplant patients—a historic and groundbreaking moment in modern medicine.

In 1980, Linda transferred to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), continuing a career that also includes experience in the operating room. Her adaptability, expertise, and calm presence have remained constants through decades of change in healthcare.

Now a Florida resident, Linda continues to serve patients at HCA St. Petersburg, reflecting her enduring commitment to nursing and to those entrusted to her care.

Linda has been a strong Republican since her first presidential vote for Richard Nixon, carrying her conservative values of service, accountability, and integrity throughout her 50-year nursing career.

In May 2025, Linda celebrated an extraordinary milestone: 50 years as a registered nurse.

Her career exemplifies the very heart of nursing—service, resilience, and excellence across generations.

Thank you, Linda, for 50 years of dedication to nursing and for being a valued  member of NARN.

Strong Nurses. Strong Nation.
